Students will complete the "Frindle" book and the packet that accompanied it. They will have a test on the book on October 15th.
Students will be working in their basal reader. They will be working on identifying the story elements "characters", "setting" and "plot". The first story is an historical fiction and deals with the discovery of Machu Piccho, and the second story is nonfiction dealing with the Inca empire.
Students will be introduced to, and practice combining sentences with conjunctions.
This week students will continue working through the formal writing process.
There will be no spelling packet this week. The spelling words will be those vocabulary words from the book "Frindle".
The following words are on this week's spelling list:
jolt crimson frantically beaming clattered
oath emphasized forbidding vandalism fad
controversial ruckus consumers rascal commotion
