I believe a sound Catholic educational system instills Gospel values as the multiple intelligences of the child are developed and refined. It is important to empower the child with the confidence to try his best and the academic and social tools to think for himself as new ideas are presented or situations experienced.
I attended E.L. Shepard Elementary School, John Dewey Junior High, and Chartiers Valley High School. I knew in elementary school that I wanted to be a teacher. I received my Bachelor Of Science Degree in Elementary Education, my Masters Degree in Education, and Reading Specialist Certification all from Duquesne University.
Before coming to Our Lady of Grace, I taught first grade at St. Pius X which later merged with other schools to become Brookline Regional Catholic.
At Our Lady of Grace, I have taught third grade, second grade, and now first grade. It is a pleasure to spend my day with your children.
