My name is Lisa Radzanowski and I am very excited to start my eleventh year of teaching at Our Lady of Grace Catholic School. This school holds a very special place in my heart. My husband and I are alumni as are our three children. Our family spent many years in this building. I have grown up here and watched my children and countless others become amazing adults, while making an impact on the world. We have gained some of our family's closest friends, from those we met at our daughter's kindergarten orientation, those we cheered with at numerous soccer games, and also those we cried with in celebration of the memories at our children's graduations. I am privileged to continue in the great tradition that is Our Lady of Grace Catholic School.
Four year olds are AWESOME! They make me excited to come to school every day. We learn and grow together as children of God. It is my hope to provide them a great "first" school experience through a child-centered, developmentally appropriate program. The students will grow to learn Jesus, to love Jesus and to live Jesus during our time in preschool.
At Our Lady of Grace Catholic School, our PreK-8 program is accredited by the Middle States Association of Elementary and Secondary Schools. The Preschool teachers have certification in Early Childhood Education as required by the state of Pennsylvania as well as the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Mrs. Havey, Mrs. Smith and myself continually seek professional development to learn new teaching methods to bring to the classroom. The state of Pennsylvania has asked all preschools and BASP (Before and After School Programs) in the Diocese of Pittsburgh to complete the extensive process of certification. To be certified the teachers and staff must complete comprehensive training and ensure that our facility is in compliance with state regulations. Our Lady of Grace Catholic School and the BASP will keep you updated on this action as it nears completion.
In addition to teaching Preschool, I mentor three FIRST Lego League teams and one high school team in the FIRST Robotics Competition. FIRST is an organization that "inspires young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators..." It has been an awesome experience working with kids from 4th to 12th grades. FIRST is in the process of bringing out a program for preschoolers. I hope to be able to bring it to our youngest students who are our future! Check it out at www.firstinspires.org.
